Can one obtain employment with either a certificate or an associates degree? Can a person go into these classes with little experience?

You can pretty much learn it on your own from books and online rescources. A degree is often a requirement for employment but there are many employers who if you demonstrate your skills will hire you regardless. There are some really good schools and some mediocre ones. Finding a worthwhile program will take some investigation.

Yes you can obtain a job with these classes. There isn’t much choice however. Unless you are planning on having a career in something specific that you need either a certificate or a AA degree then yes I would say it is waiting your time.
One example is my cousin, went to a school to become a medical assistant and she is (specific)
Another example is I heard that there is a job at a school being a tutor, it is a full time job and the only way you can get it is if you have a AA degree (two year). (unspecific example)

So there are choices and things out there. Two years isn’t THAT much time and it can be time well spent.
